SUBWAY DOUCHERY : So Hard To Say Goodbye
Well Summer 2011, what can I say? We’ve seen an earthquake, a hurricane, and Beyonce n’ Jay having a kid.. and all that was stuffed into but ONE of your weeks! It’s been a hell of a ride but Labor Day is coming, back to school commercials are owning the airwaves, and The Annual Urban Swamp Ass Epidemic is on the decline… all that means one thing, your days are numbered.
So slip on the ol’ flip flops for the last time, crack open a Bud Light Lime , and listen to one of these classic summer tunes as you empty the cooler:
1.Madonna’s This Used To Be My Playground - It used to be Madonna’s playground, but for Summer 2011’s death knell it is our playground. From the 1992 summer movie classic A League of Their Own starring Tom Hanks & Geena Davis, if this song doesn’t move you to tears… you have a heart of stone and we can’t be friends.
2. Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s Tha Crossroads - Does this song remind anyone else of the summer time? Am I way off base here? I remember watching this video, eating popsicles, and wondering how guys that looked so hard could have voices so sweet. This song made us all miss our Uncle Charlie.
3. Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt - True, it’s not a summer song. But if you’re just looking to purge some emotions n’ tears, give this clinical depression classic a listen. I’d listen with you but my therapist forbade me to listen to this song.
*** Thanks to everyone’s favorite summer gal, SARAH! She caught this picture like she was catching a wave on a boogie board. Have a safe Labor Day to all my American readers & Keep on Douchin’ ***
